On March 22 and 23, the first Community Meeting 2022 took place in Aachen – during these two days, company representatives and scientists exchanged views on various topics, developed consortial studies and held exciting lectures and workshops. - With regard to the current challenges of CO2 emissions, Dr. Leonard Müller and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dipl. Wirt. Ing. Niklas von der Aßen from the Chair of Technical Thermodynamics of RWTH Aachen University reported on the extent to which CO2 emissions can be reduced through vertical farming.
- Furthermore, with regard to sustainability in soil-based agriculture, Max Busch from Bayer gave the lecture “Sustainability as an integrated goal in agribusiness” and Prof. Dr. Ralf Pude from the University of Bonn gave the lecture “Rethinking sustainable arable and crop farming – examples from the Campus Klein-Altendorf”
- Workshop on the current challenges of recycling in agriculture
- Approaches for new consortium projects in the area of data sharing and supply chain transparency
- Test results of the “Industry 4.0 Cube” prototype for capturing relevant parameters for plant growth
