One step closer to an ecologically, socially and economically sustainable agricultural sector

The year 2022 concluded with a visit to the OrbiPlant facility of the Fraunhofer IME, start-up pitches, exciting presentations, various workshops and mulled wine at the Aachen Christmas market at the last community meeting of the year of the Center Smart Industrial Agricultural. The Center thanked the community for this and looks forward to continuing to work together to get one step closer to an ecologically, socially and economically sustainable agricultural sector. Highlights of the event included:

• Start-up pitches from Crocus Labs, Keep it grün and Aponia
• Presentation on the acceptance of bio-based innovations by consumers by Janine Macht
• Alexander Schollemann reported on the developments in sustainability assessment of global production networks
• Presentation of the (interim) results of the current consortial studies in the fields of automated harvesting, vertical farming and supply chain optimization.
