Digitalization in agriculture

The 2nd community meeting of the year 2022 of the Center Smart Industrial Agriculture took place on June 28th and 29th in the business and event area of Tivoli in Aachen. The focus of the meeting was on the initiation and concretization of consortial studies, rounded off by a visit to the CHIO Aachen opening ceremony. At the core of the program were:

• Presentation by Peter Hettlich from the Ministry of Environment, Agriculture, Nature and Consumer Protection NRW: Digitization in the last 4 years in agriculture in NRW
• Andreas Gützlaff reported on OptiWO, an IT tool developed by the WZL that quantifies strategic decisions in network design
• Workshops on automated harvesting and vertical farming
